Services

Cancer Care Resources provides individual counseling and guidance, education and information, exercise programs and nutritional services to individuals with cancer in many parts of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Our goal is to help these individuals and their families cope with the illness and improve the quality of their lives.
Cancer affects patients and those around them – at home or work, school or leisure. For many, this disease impairs life in many ways – from young families with children, to seniors who are alone. We help patients in all phases of cancer, from the beginning of the journey through rehabilitation and self-care, regardless of their prognosis.

Those on this journey may need help with:

  1. Coping with the diagnosis
  2. Communicating with the health care team
  3. Fatigue, stress or physical activity
  4. Nutritional needs
  5. Family or workplace issues
  6. Financial/insurance concerns

Our health care team assesses individuals’ and family needs while providing counseling and guidance. Referrals are made to community services as appropriate.

We also provide a lending library that includes books and videos on topics related to cancer and this material is available for anyone to use.

Cancer Care Resources is pleased to offer retreats as an opportunity to get away from the day to day dealings of life and explore various subjects in more intimate detail. These Retreats are offered to clients, healthcare professionals and caregivers. See the calendar for a schedule.

A support group is provided to young adult cancer survivors. This group meets at CCR every 4th Tuesday of the month from 6-8:00pm. The group is open to young adults from 21 to 40 years old. Making Today Count is a new group co-sponsored by CCR and is open to women living with metastatic and advanced cancer. The group meets every Wednesday from 11-12:30pm at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.
