Volunteer Opportunities

CANCER CARE RESOURCES is your local, community based organization committed to assisting individuals and families dealing with cancer to maximize their quality of life and to cope with the impact of cancer. Help is immediate, personal and free. Services are provided by professional staff members, and since everything is free of charge, we must turn to the community for support. CCR depends on the proceeds from our annual auction and golf tournaments to provide 30% of the operating budget!

Counseling/Education:

Retreat Preparation

Assembly of information packets for educational events

Greeters/Hosts for educational events
Let's Talk Program (Peer Support)

Office Management:
Telephone assistance
Office Filing
Packet assembly/Mailer help
Front Desk Greeters/Socializing with patients
Library/Educational material tracking and check-out system
Resource Guide Updating

Outreach/Advocacy:
Promoting CCR in the community at various events
Distributing promotional flyers for CCR activities in the community and clinics/hospitals
Telling “your story” to corporations, other patients, interested individuals
Working with CCR staff to educate community members about cancer survivorship issues and the need for cancer support – usually involves working with elected officials

Exercise Program:
Making exercise application packets
Assisting other patients at exercise class with form, technique, and safety
